Hello and Welcome to the County Line Just why do we say "Fly the coop with us"? Let us say for the record that "Yes it was a chicken coop". It all started in 1967 when Joe & Delores Larson built a Hen House on the family farm that borders the city limits of Summit, South Dakota. At that time It accommodated 6,500 to 8,000 laying hens. The egg market was profitable for approximately 5 years and then the bottom fell out and the decision was made to get out of the egg business. For approximately 30 years Delores continually asked family and friends the same question "What can we do with the empty Chicken Coop?" In the fall of 2004 the Chicken Coop, now known as the County Line, was remodeled and turned into a restaurant and lounge facility. |
